First Meetup, Success! “Find Your Why” Summary

Below is an email I sent out to the attendees of the Entrepreneurial Focus Sessions Meetup called, “Find Your Why”

Fellow Believers in WHY,

Thanks for coming out last night and making it such a fun evening. I’m excited to do more of this and learn more about you in the future.
Some key takeaways (for me anyway):
  • “WHY” is powerful because it taps into our emotions, and in turn drives our actions. When you get a group of people committed to a single “WHY” you unleash both tremendous energy and focus. People care about the larger cause, and they act in harmony with one another because of that shared belief.
  • The What/How/Shitty message actually isn’t that shitty, but it does fall short of being exceptional. It seems like there’s power in being able to succinctly say what you do. Only when you center that “WHAT” and “HOW” around “WHY” though do you get something that really resonates.
  • A concept that seemed to resonate with you all (which definitely resonates with me) was the idea of having your own, authentic “value.” I don’t think any of us want to operate as commodities, or as cogs…we want to make a unique contribution and feel like we’re offering something that no one else can.
Favorite Resources from the Group:
  • Ecommerce Fuel (podcast)
  • Intentional Living, John Maxwell books
  • Attorney at Heart (podcast)
  • Millionaire Mindset
  • Millionaire Success Habits
  • 10X Talk (podcast)
  • Exponential Wisdom (podcast)
  • Honda Origin Story (book, not actual title)
  • 7 Why’s exercise. Find the Root of the issue!
Going forward:
Let me know what your thoughts are, and how soon you’d like to meet. Jessica, I think you mentioned you’d be willing to reserve the room on my behalf, since any given person can only reserve the room once per month. If this is still the case, let me know and we coordinate the date and invite.
Lastly, be sure to let me know if you have any questions or requests for me. Anything to be of use!
Thanks,
Nicholas
